“I do not fix problems. I fix my thinking. Then problems fix themselves.” -Louise L. Hay
The problem is not the problem, the problem is you keep thinking about and talking about the problem. Yes, that’s this week’s message. I get to thank Dana Wilde of The Mind Aware for reminding me of that powerful statement.
Let me repeat what I said, the problem is not the problem. The problem is you keep THINKING about the problem, and you keep TALKING about the problem.
It’s how the brain works. What you focus on, happens! Let me explain. One of Dana’s teachings is “The Cycle of Perpetual Sameness.”
It starts with your unconscious mind, or your beliefs. When it’s thinking of something and your putting energy into it, it is matching up with your outside world, or your behaviors and outcomes. Then when it matches up and you get upset about it with your thoughts and self-talk, then you solidify your beliefs and you have created “The Cycle of Perpetual Sameness.”
Here is a simple example: Your unconscious mind is focused on the fact that you are always late. You have a belief that you are always late. You might even be saying to yourself, “I’m going to be late, I’m always late.” That is your inside world picture. Your inside world picture will then do whatever it takes to match it with your outside world picture. The result, you will be late. Then if you choose to get upset or have strong emotion around the fact that you were late. If you keep thinking about or talking about being late. You have solidified your inside world picture into your unconscious mind and the vicious cycle of being late will repeat.
The problem is not the problem, the problem is you keep thinking about and talking about the problem. What will you do differently? How will you think differently?
I would love to know your thoughts. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
